What you need to bring:
A Canon or Nikon DSLR Camera, wide angle & telephoto, Sturdy Tripod, Pen and notepad. Bring a copy of the triangle of exposure

Shooting handheld night scenes with high ISO settings and low ISO settings with a Tripod. Shooting long exposures in color and black & white settings.
